Welcome Pass/High Divide

Miles: 8 miles roundtrip

Elevation: 3,400 feet gained

The trail starts on an old logging road and slowly gains until entering old growth forest at one mile. Switchbacks now lead you up 2,500 feet in only 1.5 miles to views at Welcome Pass. The trail no wanders up through meadows to a junction on the other side of the divide at Excelsior Pass.

Get there: Going east on Mount Baker Highway (542), Keep your eyes open for Forest Service Road 3060. This turn is just a third of a mile past the DOT Shuksan Garage. At 3/4 mile the road ends at the trailhead.
