Mountain Loop Books and Coffee

Mountain Loop Books and Coffee

I visited Mountain Loop Books and Coffee while exiting the woods coming through Darrington. What a pleasant spot they have in the downtown area of this mountain community. The owner, Tony Gobroski, is always in and happy to talk with his customers!

This is a perfect spot to meet before a hike, especially if you are hiking with others and want to carpool. All of the parking nearby is public street parking, and Tony said it is perfect spot to enjoy his establishment and continue on to one of the many hikes in the area.

When you first visit the shop, the entry door takes you into a very inviting coffee shop with plenty of tables. There is a fireplace, instruments, and locally made merchandise for sale. It really is a comfy feel and Tony has created an environment that makes customers want to hang out.

This is a perfect spot to meet before a hike, especially if you are hiking with others and want to carpool.

The book side of the shop is well stocked. There is plenty of new and used titles in all categories. Asking him for an estimated count on books, Tony said about 10,000 titles! I appreciated the local and outdoor section; there were some copies of "Darrington : Mining Town/ Timber Town".

Mountain Loop Books has had some well known authors visit to give talks on their work. Recent speakers have been; Craig Ramano guidebook author and Saul Weisberg Executive Director of the North Cascades Institute.

So, Next time you are in the area, stop in and say hi to Tony. Have a cup of coffee and check out all of the wonderful things that are offered!
