Hannegan Pass

Miles: 8 miles roundtrip

Elevation: 3,000 feet gained

Start out in the forest and quickly open to a view of Ruth Creek Valley, following the trail fairly level for the first mile. The trail starts to gain for about the next 2.5 miles with views of numerous waterfalls on the cliffsides. At 3.5 miles stay left at a small junction with the access trail to Hannegan Camp and then climb steeply to the Pass.

This trail is an access point for popular trails that include:

  • Copper Ridge Loop
  • Whatcom Pass
  • Easy Ridge
  • And the North Cascades Pickett Range
  • Get there: Going east on Mount Baker Highway (542) at about 12.5  miles past the town of Glacier and turn left onto road #32 (Hannegan Pass Road). The trailhead is about 5 miles at road's end.
