The closest hike to Granite Falls shares the same name as the town. In 1954 there was a fish ladder put in to help fish get around this long falls. It isn't a straight fall of a waterfall, but a cascading gorge drop over a distance of the South Fork Stiliguamish River.
The fish ladder offers a great place to view the water and the high looming cliffs. There are two main viewing platforms at the top and the bottom of the falls.
Walking downhill from the parking area along the Mountain Loop Highway, you follow a road. About halfway down on the right, there are stairs that drop directly down to the fish ladder. You can choose to walk the roadway down as well.
